At the Content Management Strategies/DITA North America Conference held in Chicago last week, CSOFT had an opportunity to share its expertise on content localization through a presentation entitled “No Puns Allowed: Writing and Managing Content for Your Global Audience.” CSOFT’s James Davidson and Marisa Chavarria, the main speakers of the sessions, said it had a great turnout, attracting people from organizations of all sizes that deal primarily with content intended for global audiences. One major theme that prevailed at the conference was how to improve localization efficiency effectively.

“We discussed best practices to improve localization efficiency in an organization’s translation budget and time-to-market workflow,” Marisa said.  “The lively discussion at the end of the session also allowed participants to learn how other companies manage content across multiple languages.”

The conference also presented CSOFT with several exciting opportunities to network with people directly involved in the content development of a product’s lifecycle.  It was a perfect environment for participants to enhance their knowledge of how different organizations align content management plans with their global strategies, and it provided a forum for CSOFT members to engage with members of the technical writing community. It also gave us a chance to learn of the successes and challenges for some organizations when moving to component content management.

CSOFT is looking forward to leveraging lessons learned from the conference. We also hope to continue sharing insight with content developers looking to maximize user experience with their global audiences.  In fact, our customer service team is available 24/7/365 should you have any questions about any of our localization and globalization services.
