For the first time in history, China has been selected as the guest of honor at the 2015 BookExpo America in New York. We at Simply CSOFT couldn’t be more excited since we are headquartered in the country’s capital, Beijing. CSOFT is honored to have been invited to the event as the global strategic partner of China’s national publishing group, CIGP (China International Publishing Group).
Our Executive Vice President for Global Growth and Operations, Will Knight, represented CSOFT yesterday during the “Symposium on Xi Jinping: The Governance of China.” Huang Youyi, Vice President of CIPG and the primary translator of the book about which the symposium is held, opened the event with anecdotes about the translation process. This was followed by speeches from Steven Rosato, BEA President, Cui Tiankai, Chinese ambassador to the United States, and Robert Lawrence Kuhn, renowned American corporate strategist and China commentator.
“CSOFT is honored to support CIPG at the 2015 BookExpo America,” said Shunee Yee, CEO and President of CSOFT International. “The book is a great resource to help the West understand China better. There are endless opportunities in the country, but foreign companies need to be better equipped in order to do business in China more effectively and foster more lasting business relationships.”
The Chinese delegation’s attendance at this 2015 BookExpo America is part of the PRC’s greater outreach to help the rest of the world understand China, Chinese business, and how to work more effectively in cross-cultural contexts, an effort that also includes the recent launch of a new series of books entitled Understanding the CPC, and a weekly television show called “Closer to China with Robert Lawrence Kuhn.”
“Our East-West strategy and consulting services are dedicated to bridge the gap between different cultures,” Yee added. “Our participation at this event underscores that commitment.”
