Our Beijing office seems busier than normal these days as the team is heading to Shanghai next week to attend LocWorld 27. As we previously noted on Simply CSOFT, CSOFT is sponsoring the Opening Reception of the event on Monday, April 13th and our CEO Shunee Yee will be moderating a panel discussion titled “Ali-blah-blah-blah: Speaking the Language of China,” The panel will kick off day two of the conference on Wednesday, April 15th at 9am.
With China’s nascent transformation from a manufacturing economy to a value-added hub of innovation, Chinese companies face great challenges in communicating their value abroad, and their Western counterparts face equal if not greater challenges in maintaining their share of this dynamic market.
This year’s panel will tackle these very issues together with Huang Youyi, Vice President of the Translators Association of China and translator of Xi Jinping:The Governance of China, the recently released book by the President of the People’s Republic of China. Joined by Corporate Vice President of Digital Marketing and Operations at AMD Ron Myers, and the Founder and Director of the Translation Service Center at Huawei Bill Chen, they will examine the rise of China and the cultural barriers encountered by multinational companies operating in the world’s second largest economy.
“CSOFT is proud to present the lineup for this upcoming session. Each speaker brings his own unique experiences and knowledge about the China market as it relates to the localization industry,“ said Yee. “I believe the attendees will leave with a better understanding of China’s business environment and on how to overcome the challenges of doing business internationally.”
Our newly appointed Executive VP of Global Growth and Operations Will Knight will also lead a presentation later that day entitled “Daring to Look at the Future Tools of Localization” at 2pm. Additionally, Executive VP of Global Strategy Carl Yao will host “Blending in the New Blood – Here Comes the Acquisition,” at 4:30pm on April 14th. In this session, Peter Wang of IBM will talk about how to overcome challenges associated with mergers and acquisitions.
Finally, don’t forget to visit CSOFT at Booth 105. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
