On June 27, CSOFT Health Sciences held its 2023 Summer Soirée at the Harvard Art Museums in Cambridge, MA. Featured as an exclusive accompaniment to our more general presence at this year’s DIA Annual Global Meeting, which occurred simultaneously in Boston’s Seaport, the Soiree was filled with sensory delights and ample food for thought.

With the assistance of the award-winning design firm Rednoir, we transformed the Calderwood Courtyard into a lush and vivid futurist space, blending the old’s architecture with the new’s lighting aesthetics to feel as if we were defying time itself. Guests had private access to the Museums’ galleries, with information about the artworks provided by CSOFTers and docents. Following that, live music was provided by SXSW sensation Dakota Cohen, who wowed the crowd with a selection of classic standards and new originals. Delicious locally-sourced hors de oeuvres were served alongside refreshing cocktails.

Following a dance performance by Dr. Andre Isaacs, a Holy Cross professor of Chemistry and TikTok star, who led a team of dancers and CSOFTers in a routine, CSOFT CEO Shunee Yee kicked off the programmed events with a champagne toast. Our emcee, Matt Roberts, astonished guests with magic tricks and illusions as participants scribbled down their thoughts to play our centerpiece game, “The Shape of Things to Come.”

We asked everyone to predict the future, not just for the Health Sciences but for all related disciplines, by writing down their ideas on a notecard. They were then placed in a Time Capsule, which will be opened in 2029. However, participants were invited to share their thoughts before it was sealed. Speakers included representatives from thought-leading institutions like Stanford University, the Joslin Diabetes Center, and Sanofi, and the range of topics spanned everything from A.I. to gene editing to the persistence of telehealth.

It was an incredible night, where CSOFT and our guests celebrated the possibilities that emerge when art, communication, and science are united in service to the betterment of patients everywhere. We want to thank our guests for their attendance and participation and the contributions of everyone involved behind the scenes who made everything come together gorgeously.
