Profiles of CSOFT’s Linguists, Part 4

At our upcoming summit next week, CSOFT will introduce a revolutionary new campaign created to promote translators worldwide. We are still keeping details of the campaign under wraps, but as you might have noticed, we’ve been profiling our linguists who will be attending the two-day conference. We do this to honor them, at the same time creating anticipation and excitement for the campaign. In today’s Simply CSOFT, we present you six CSOFT’s linguists from Japan, China, South Korea, Brazil, Turkey and Russia. Their contribution to CSOFT has been invaluable and we can’t wait to see them at the Summit.

Yutaka Ueno

Hailing from Japan, Yutaka Ueno is an IT specialized translator and has been partnering with CSOFT since 2008. He will be attending CSOFT’s Annual Summit next week for the fifth time. Ueno is the father of three and a proud grandfather of five. He considers the job of a translator to be considerably unique, adding that it’s good for the brain. “I have so much fun doing it,” said Ueno.

Haeyeon Kim

A native of South Korea, Haeyeon Kim spent seven years in the UK and Egypt and majored in English literature. She has worked as a freelance translator in several technological areas for almost 17 years. Some of her clients include Microsoft, EMC, Adobe, SAS, Huawei and VMware. “I am always eager to meet new people,” Kim said. “I don’t get to spend much time on my hobbies since I have three kids to take care of. That’s why I am really looking forward to the Summit and reuniting with the CSOFT family”

Sun Qiang

Sun Qiang was born in Anhui province and currently lives in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Since graduating from Beijing Technology and Business University, he has been working as a linguist for more than 10 years. He now works as a team with three other linguists and enjoys learning about economics in his spare time.

Rodrigo Gaion de Oliveira

Rodrigo Gaion studied Communication with emphasis in theatre. Before working as a translator, he was a professional actor in São Paulo for 15 years, working on plays, short movies, advertisements, and voice-over projects. He now dedicates himself to translating and editing content to Portuguese. He loves to travel, meet new people and connect with nature. He also enjoys movies, knitting, and learning new languages.

Rafet Saltik

CEO of Referans Translations in Istanbul, Turkey, Rafet Saltik has been a translator and copywriter since 1984. Previously, he served as a faculty member at Istanbul University where he still gives occasional lectures on translation and interpretation. He loves publishing and is the author of several children’s books. Saltik is married with two daughters; he loves watching football and gardening in his spare time.

Maksim Kochegarov

Maksim Kochegarov is a Moscow-based linguist specialized in Information Technology with more than 20 years of experience. “I’ve been an avid enthusiast and connoisseur of all things digital since the days of punch cards, so much so that I have often been mistaken for an engineer—by real engineers,” said Kochegarov. He admits that he’s a bit of a perfectionist. “I guess that’s a good trait to have as a translator,” he added. “I’ve also been able to live my dream of working while traveling, thanks to Information Technology.”
